Dan Bruns
Creating Linked Web Pages with ODS
Dan is a Senior Systems Programmer for the Tennessee Valley Authority in Chattanooga, TN, and has supported several products on the z/OS IBM mainframes since 1986. He has been a SAS user since 1972. He has presented several papers/workshops at SUGI and other conferences since 1990. He has been a member of the SouthEast SAS Users Group (SESUG) Executive Council since 1994. His main areas of interest are base SAS, SAS macros, reporting procedures, SAS/GRAPH, SAS/ACCESS®, and SAS/SHARE®.

He’s spent 10 years at TVA as a trainer of SAS and several other software packages. Many of the SAS users at TVA refer to him as a SASologist (a SAS technologist), which he prefers to the title “programmer” since he has been heard to say he “got out of application programming because it was boring.” He prefers the close one-on-one contact with the users & programmers helping them with their technical questions and problems.
Ginger Carey
Helen Carey
Ginger works in the Information Technology department at the University of Hawaii where she provides technical support and classes for SAS users. Ginger co-chaired WUSS ’95. Helen works in the insurance industry providing SAS and SQL programming and is an independent computing and training consultant. Both are experienced programmers using a variety of features and products of the SAS System for over 25 years.

Helen and Ginger have given many invited and contributed papers at WUSS and SUGI conferences and local users groups. They have taught previous classes for WUSS. They have served as Section Chairs at SUGI 23-29. Helen and Ginger co-authored a book in the SAS Books by Users series: SAS Today! A Year of Terrific Tips. They believe in the need for constant learning and their philosophy is to have fun while learning.
Art Carpenter
Art has been providing SAS and statistical consulting services with California Occidental Consultants since 1983. He has been using SAS since 1976 and is a SAS Certified Professional™. He has written and taught over a dozen different training courses about Base SAS, SAS/GRAPH, SAS/AF®, SAS/FSP®, SAS Macros, and numerous other SAS topics. Art has served in many SAS-related positions, including steering committee member and president of the Southern CA SUG; chairman of the SANDS SUG; Section Chair, Conference Co-chair, and EC member for WUSS; and in various positions including Conference Chair and EC member for SUGI.

Art has written Quick Results with SAS/GRAPH Software; Annotate: Simply the Basics; Carpenter's Complete Guide to the SAS Macro Language, 2nd Ed.; and two chapters in Reporting from the Field. He has presented over four dozen posters, papers, and workshops at SUGI and various regional conferences, and has received several best contributed paper awards.
George Fernandez
Statistical Data Mining Using SAS MACRO Applications - Unsupervised and Supervised Learning Methods
Dr. Fernandez is the statistician for the Nevada Experimental station and Cooperative Extension. He is also an associate professor in the department of applied economics and statistics at the University of Nevada-Reno. He has more than 16 years of experience in teaching statistics-related courses and SAS programming. He is a professional SAS programmer and has over 20 years experience in base SAS, SAS/IML®, SAS/STAT, SAS/QC®, SAS/ETS®, SAS/INSIGHT®, SAS/ANLALYST®, SAS/LAB®, SAS/ASSIST, and SAS/GRAPH. He has won best paper and poster awards at regional and international conferences. He has presented several invited full-day workshops at many conferences, including the American Statistical Assoc., WUSS 2000 and WUSS 2002, and the 56th Deming’s conference. He was the Keynote Speaker as well as workshop presenter at the 16th Conference on Applied Statistics. He was a Co-chair for the WUSS 7 in 1999. His new book, Data Mining using SAS Applications, contains many user-friendly SAS macro applications.
Sunil Gupta
Sunil is a principal consultant at Gupta Programming. He has been using SAS software for over 11 years and is a SAS Base Certified Professional. He has participated in over 6 successful FDA submissions. His consulting projects with pharmaceutical companies include the development of a Macro-Based Application for Report Generation and Customized Plots and Charts. He is also the author of Quick Results with the Output Delivery System, developer of over five SAS programming classes, developer of clinical trial reporting templates for quick generation of tables, lists, and graphs, and was a SAS Institute Quality Partner™ for over 5 years. Currently, he is writing a new book, Analysis and Reporting Made Easier Using SAS Learning Edition, and is coauthoring a book on Sharpening Your SAS Skills.
Gerry Hobbs

Gerry is an Associate Professor of Statistics and Adjunct Associate Professor of Community Medicine at West Virginia University. He is also a Consultant to SAS Institute. He has published numerous articles on statistical topics, and presented papers at a variety of conferences. He has been a member of the SUGI Executive Committee since 1986 and has been SUGI chair.
Kirk Lafler

Kirk is senior consultant and founder of Software Intelligence Corporation, with 25 years of SAS programming experience. As a SAS Certified Professional and former SAS Institute Alliance Member (1996 – 2002), Kirk provides IT consulting services and training to SAS users around the world. He has written four books including Power PROC SQL (available September 2004), Power SAS, and more than one hundred peer-reviewed articles. Kirk is a frequent speaker at international, regional, and local SAS User Groups. Pete is a SAS Certified professional who has used the SAS System for over 15 years. He currently works for Looking Glass Analytics in Olympia, WA as Information Systems Manager. Pete has extensive experience with the DATA step and SAS macro language, SQL, SAS/GRAPH and SAS/IntrNet and presented over 40 papers at local and regional SAS Users Groups as well as at SUGI, where he won the “Best Contributed Paper” Award in 2000, 2001, and 2002. He is currently President of the Pacific Northwest SAS Users Group.
Frederick Pratter

Frederick is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science/
Multimedia Studies Program at Eastern Oregon University. He is the author of Web Development with SAS by Example in the SAS Books by Users series and he is currently working on the 2nd edition, updating the book for Appdev Studio 3.0. In addition to SAS, he has worked extensively as a contract programmer in Java, C/C++, Visual Basic, DB2, and Oracle. Prior to giving up the East Coast urban lifestyle, he was a Senior Scientist and the Information Technology Director for the Business Research Consulting Group at Abt Associates in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has been a SAS user for nearly 30 years and has presented papers and training courses at SUGI, PHARMASUG, WUSS, NESUG, and PNWSUG as well as at local user groups in Boston and New York City.

Dana is an IT Principal, Sr. Systems Designer, and Sr. SAS Instructor for Destiny Corp. He has over 15 years experience training individuals on all aspects of SAS Software. He also consults in the areas of applications development and design in 4th Generation Languages, Operating Systems, Networking, and Communications. Dana has been a consultant, systems designer, and trainer on many applications development projects and implementations for several concerns including U.S. Census Bureau; RAND Corporation; the States of CA, NY, & FL; BMG; EMI; Pfizer; and other Fortune 500 companies. His expertise brings together an understanding of system configurations, web-based delivery and optimization, efficient access to relational databases, and decision support tools, including SAS, Cognos, Oracle, Business Objects, Brio, and Futrix.
Terry Woodfield

Dr. Woodfield is a Statistical Services Specialist in the Education Division at SAS. He provides training and mentoring services in the areas of statistical forecasting, predictive modeling, and data mining. Terry was Chief Statistician at HNC Software before joining SAS Institute in 1999. Prior experience includes statistical software development in SAS/ETS Research and Development and university teaching and research. He has been active in the statistics profession, presenting papers at numerous statistical conferences and professional meetings, and he has served on steering committees in data mining and forecasting. He has helped develop predictive modeling solutions for insurance, energy, and retail companies. In the SAS Education Division, he has developed courses in statistical forecasting, Web mining, and text mining. Terry has 25 years SAS programming experience, as well as 27 years experience programming in computer languages like C/C++ and FORTRAN. He holds a Ph.D. in statistics from Texas A&M University.
