WUSS and SAS have partnered to offer the Junior Professional Award (JPA) for the 2012 WUSS Conference, September 5-7, at the Hyatt Regency in Long Beach, Ca. The annual conference provides opportunities for learning (via classes, workshops and presentations), networking with SAS users and meeting with SAS technical staff.
Recipients Receive…
- Conference registration
- 2 half-day classes (Wednesday morning and/or Friday afternoon)
- Recognition and/or involvement in a series of conference special events
Recipients Agree to…
Volunteer at the conference as a class coordinator to assist instructors (e.g. pass out materials), or as a session coordinator during presentations (e.g. introduce speakers, time presentations, adjust lighting).
Who Can Apply…
Applicants must have used SAS in a job for 3 years or less as of the start of the conference (September 5, 2012) and would otherwise not be funded by their company to attend the conference.
Presentation Mentoring Program
A Junior Professional who is making a presentation may request to work with an experienced presenter as a mentor. The mentor can assist by reviewing the abstract, proceedings paper and powerpoint as well as practice presentations.
Application Deadlines
Applications are due July 20, 2012
Applicants will be notified of awarded decision by July 27, 2012.
Early Decision Deadline May 7, 2012
Early decision may be available for those with an accepted abstract.
