Student Scholarship Award

September 7-9, 2016 at the Grand Hyatt on Union Square, San Francisco, California


The annual WUSS educational forum and conference is conducted for the educational growth, training, and networking of conference attendees. In order to further these goals, the WUSS Executive Committee is providing scholarships to college or university undergraduate or graduate students to attend the 2016 WUSS conference with complimentary conference registration, discounted lodging and two half-day classes (Wed AM and/or Fri PM) for accepted applications*. The conference will be held September 7-9, 2016 at the Grand Hyatt on Union Square, San Francisco, California..

  1. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at a college or university at the time of the conference (during the 2016-2017 academic year).

  2. This college or university must be in the WUSS region or you must have permanent residence in the region -Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming.

  3. May receive the student award for up to two years, but must present a poster or paper at the conference to be eligible for a second year.

  4. Need to provide proof of student enrollment including copies of classes or official enrollment confirmation, and a current student identification card.



APPLICATION DEADLINE: Application and accompanying verification documents for all applicants must be submitted no later than June 6, 2016; incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

ABSTRACT DEADLINE: Second year applicants must submit an abstract no later than May 2, 2016; please see Important Dates for the call for papers deadline (go to to submit your abstract.)  The WUSS presentation mentoring program is available to all presenters.

The scholarship requires that you fulfill the role of a session or class coordinator. This duty takes approximately 4 hours at a pre- or post-conference class or in-conference presentations.


All students who meet the outlined eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply. All applicants must submit a complete online application and submit proof of student status by the deadline. INCOMPLETE AND LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
