WUSS 2022 Scholarships

Scholarship recipients receive complimentary registration gaining them access to all conference events including hundreds of scientific and technical presentations, vendor and exhibitor displays, as well as networking events.

Half-day classes are offered on Wednesday morning immediately before the conference, and Friday afternoon after the conference.  Classes are offered on a variety of topics.  Information about classes and instructors will be available when registration opens in June.

Scholarship recipients are invited to special events with representatives from SAS Institute, as well as WUSS organizers, book authors, and other leading SAS-user professionals from varied disciplines and industries.

Faculty and student scholars will be able to book lodging at the conference hotel at a deeply discounted rate of $100 per night.  (The general conference rate is $189.)  Students can save even more by sharing a room (optional).  Booking instructions will be provided to those selected to receive scholarship awards.

Faculty scholars will be reimbursed for up to $350 of approved transportation expenses.

Faculty scholarship applicants must be planning to use SAS in teaching or research during the 2022–2023 academic year.

Applicants must be employed with a teaching or research assignment at an accredited degree-granting college or university.

Applicants must provide proof of teaching or research assignment via an official letter from their college or university (including contact information).

Faculty may receive a scholarship only once.

Faculty scholarship recipients must submit an abstract and present a paper at the conference.

In addition, applicants must be willing to volunteer as a session or class coordinator at a pre- or post-conference class, or during in-conference presentations.  This is a four-hour commitment.

Students must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program during the 2022–2023 academic year at an accredited degree-granting college or university. Students must provide proof of enrollment by submitting a copy of an official enrollment confirmation or class schedule.

Students may receive the award a maximum of two years. Second-time applicants must submit an abstract and be selected to present a paper or poster at the conference.

In addition, applicants must be willing to volunteer as a session or class coordinator at a pre- or post-conference class, or during in-conference presentations.  This is a four-hour commitment.

New SAS Professional scholarship applicants must have been employed in a job using SAS for three years or less at the start of the conference.  Applicants must provide proof of their employment.

Applicants may receive the award a maximum of two years. To be eligible for the second year, applicants must submit an abstract and be selected to present a paper or poster.
